I’m totally just going to rip off Ben Mosher, but I don’t really care. (BTW, grats bro on 194 posts for last year. I’m confident you can break 200 now that you’ve got an extra month to work with.)

“New year, new responsibilities, new opportunities, new victories, new addictions, new ways to start phrases, new ways to pretend I’m some sort of ostentatious blogger that actually does a nice job wordsmithing.” That’s really just an awesome job at wordsmithing. It describes all my feelings pretty spot on.

I too am really pumped for this year. Much more pumped that I dare say I’ve ever been as well. Many good reasons for this:

• I’M GETTING MARRIED
• I’m getting closer and closer to graduating
• Learning to manage my own finances better than ever before

The few number of resolutions goals things I’m going to try and do this year are:

1. Take a picture or myself EVERY DAY
2. Workout and run on a regular basis
   1. Do one-hundred consecutive push-ups
   2. Do two-hundred consecutive sit-ups
   3. Run a half marathon
3. Start a new, real, original website/project
4. Do laundry more often
5. Take more pictures to document my existence, my travels, and my experiences
6. Floss

A few things worth noting about the experience:

1. The movie is HILARIOUS. It’s one of the funniest movies that I’ve seen in a while. If you can deal with the language, brief nudity, and drug references, you’re in for a treat.
2. The theater was PACKED. Usually when we go see a movie at this particular theater, there are less than 10 people there with us. (I think one time it was just us.) The entire theater was full. I’m surprised we even found two seats (which were really good too) together.
3. I like boobies.

Go see it. It was only $1.75/ticket to see it and if you go on a Tuesday it should only set you back $0.75/ticket. If you want to go with someone, I would probably go see it again.

One thing I hate about really funny and popular movies with large audiences is that they tend to all laugh for a REALLY LONG TIME after the joke is over and you miss some of the other banter. It’s almost like a high school graduation ceremony where someone brings their entire family and they all scream so loud that Susie Nobody never got to hear her name.

Jerks.

I don’t even want to think about how they’ll try to catch those in the Akismet.

I’ve decided that I’m going to do something similar.

Starting on January 1, I’m going to take a picture of myself every day for as long as I can. I think it will be cool to watch myself grow. It will be interesting to watch my facial hair and head hair grow at the same time as well.

I haven’t decided where I’m going to keep all the photos, but I’ll probably just host them on Flickr.

Here’s a list of things that we’ve nailed down, decided on, or bought:

1. The date.
2. The ceremony location.
3. The reception location.
4. The caterer.
5. Her dress.
6. The invitations.
7. The four bridesmaids.
8. One groomsman.
9. The Pastor.

A tentative list of things that still need to be done is:

1. Starting time of the ceremony.
2. Three more groomsmen.
3. Pick a Best Man.
4. Pick a Maid of Honor.
5. Wedding dress alterations.
6. Bridesmaid dresses.
7. Book a photographer (this is who we are looking at right now).
8. Menu for the food.
9. Send the invitations.
10. Flowers.
11. Cakes.
12. Buy the wedding rings.
13. Decorations.
14. Make and send save-the-date cards.
15. Finish the gift registry.
16. Everything that goes with the music (tracks, DJ, dance lessons, etc).
17. Possible travel arrangements/hotels for out-of-town folks.
18. Finish the wedding site.
19. Bridal party gifts.
20. Everything with the honeymoon.
21. Something old.
22. Something new (this would be kind of cool).
23. Something borrowed.
24. Something blue.
25. Marriage license.
26. Official name change for Amanda.

Pretty cool.

It’s a free service, the city guide that is, so since they don’t make any money from people using they can’t offer me any money. All they are offering me is:

1. Name recognition as the person that took the photo
2. Linkage to the photo on Flickr
3. The joy of having something published
4. A sense of civic duty

(So maybe the last two are made up, but I think they still apply.)

I’m kind of liking this new way of writing posts. I like how Ben Mosher puts a bunch of links into his posts. It’s very interactive and keeps me reading because I want to first know what I’m about to click and then I WANT TO CLICK IT!

7:00AM - Alarm 1 either doesn’t go off or I sleep through it.

7:15AM - Alarm 2 either doesn’t go off or I sleep through it.

8:00AM - Alarm 3 either doesn’t go off or I sleep through it.

9:00AM - LCC 3254 Final Exam starts.

9:22AM - I randomly wake up, notice how light it is outside, look at my phone, and FREAK OUT.

9:23AM - I leave Smith and run down North Avenue, in a full sprint, through the pouring rain toward Skiles 368. On the way, cars drive by splashin water from every puddle and drain runoff onto me.

9:25AM - I arrive at Skiles 368, soaking wet for head to toe, with water dripping everywhere.

9:26AM - She lets me take the final.

GET IT RIGHT.

Senior fullback at Georgia was quoted as saying, “We don’t want to be the senior class that lost to Tech.” Well, sorry bud. You are.

My blog has an 8MB limit on video, my Flickr account has a 90 second max time limit on videos, so my only other option was to post it on Youtube. That’s probably a better decision anyway (at least over my blog hosting it) because they get to deal with the bandwidth.
